The following are simple tips on trying forex trading.
You will almost certainly lose money in the early stages of Forex trading and even when you become expert. A successful trader is one for whom profit eventually outweighs loss over time. Trading is based on speculation, which involves risk. Have enough capital in your account when you start trading. Do not invest money that you can't afford to lose. Don't bet your pension fund or the rent money.
Be familiar with the different currencies involved in online FX trading. The top most generally traded currency pairs are Pound/USD, USD/Yen, Euro/Yen, Euro/USD and Swiss franc/USD. Charts should also be studied exhaustively. Go through the charts each day.
Choose suitable currency pairs. Some are are more volatile in certain conditions while others are stable. Choose a pair that accords with your trading strategy. If short-term, try more volatile pairs. If long term, choose a comparitively stable pair.
Any promises of uniform monthly gains of 15% or more are inflated and would never be claimed by any legitimate broker. A few traders do manage to produce some astounding short term gains but the gambles taken to create these are enormous and normally mean that even the most pro operator who stretches his leverage beyond discretion is bound sooner or later to be wiped out.
Have entry and exit strategies. You need a currency pair, the required period, an entry point and an exit point. The latter help you minimize the losses and maximize returns. Use stop-loss and take-profit orders with your broker as your exit points.
Ignore most courses, ebooks and DVDs. These are written to make money for the author, not necessarily to make money for you. Get a demo account and try out any strategy you're considering on it. Even them, remember that you will behave differently with a demo account that with a live one; when you're gambling your own money, the emotions are much stronger and likley to be more irrational.
I hope these few simple tips will assist you in getting into sound forex trading.
