Investment Portfolio Ideas

Ask Questions – The salesman who is trying to flog you an investment should be able to provide you with any relevant information about the investment: this includes a recent annual report, the details of the offering, etc. . .

Never give in to pressure to "invest now or miss a once in a lifetime opportunity". Probably a good reason to back off!

Think Of What They Need – When looking for investment portfolio opportunities on your own, remember that some of the most profitable investments are those in materials for popular commodities.

You look at a rapidly expanding industry and instead of thinking "I should invest in that" think: "What do they need?" and invest in that.

A certain creativity is essential to gathering a sound investment portfolio, so don’t be afraid to try and think of the whole picture when considering a product or industry.

The ideal portfolio is one which is balanced. It has cash, property, stocks, shares and commodities, so that when one goes down in value, the other(s) go up.

The once true constant in life is change. Things change. Good times come, and good times go. Bad times come, and bad times go. As a wise man once said 'This Too Will Pass'.

So what to invest in? I suggest quality.

Companies that have been around for longer than ten years, that have been paying an (increasing) dividend year-on-year, that are not 'sexy', but produce products that other industries truly need to function.

That's a start!
